Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Growing up as a tomboy in Southern California under a Sicilian and English household had many interesting takes.

While mum (from Brighton) mastered the art of Italian cuisine, my dad would often take me to a place that I really enjoyed. It was a beautiful place filled with Japanese gardens, koi ponds and arched red (Sori-bashi) bridges. Definitely a softer side to an amusement park.

There was an area that had beaming sounds of (now vintage) pachinko machines.

I still have that old pachinko machine that dad bought for my 9th birthday. It surprisingly has traveled a lifetime with me.

As far as the customs and the beauty that flows through Japan, I developed contemporary forms of Japanese art  through my own intuition. The oil paintings created at the onset of this journey brings a certain reassurance, along with so many stories of the Sakura (Cherry Blossom) trees and other delightfully strange coincidences that have taken place over the course of my life.

This work has evolved into a quite a collection.  Enjoy!
